Christy

Christy Fields, DVM

Christy Fields was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio. She received an undergraduate Bachelors degree from Sienna Heights University in Adrian, MI. In 2004, Christy earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from ISU. After working at a mixed animal practice in Pella, IA, Christy came to work at Kimberly Pines Veterinary Hospital in November of 2006. She currently lives on acreage in Maquoketa, IA with her husband William, sons Lane and Calvin, and daughter Emma. She enjoys horseback riding and quilting.

Pets: Chief (Blue Heeler), Tucker (house cat), a fish tank, horses, chickens, cattle and barn cats

Kay

Kay Fix (Metzgar), DVM

Dr. Metzgar is originally from Bettendorf, Iowa. She attended Iowa State University, receiving a bachelor’s of science in Wildlife Biology in 1995 and her doctorate of veterinary medicine in 2000. She worked in small animal practices in Denver, Colorado before returning to Iowa to join Kimberly Pines in 2012. Kay is newly married to Jason and recently adopted Aria (15) and Aeva (6). During her free time, Kay enjoys being a new wife and mom, running, working out and Broncos football.

Pets:Dogs - Fisher, Beatrice and Moo. Cats- Rico, Henry, Fatty, and Bisquick

Favorite Cases: Challenging Eye Issues, Cardiac Cases, Internal Medicine and Dentistry.

Dr. Amy B.

Amy was born in Davenport, IA and raised in Coal Valley, IL. She went to the University of IL Urbana for undergrad and spent a year abroad in Scotland. After taking a year off, she lived/worked on a ranch in Montana before moving to Ireland to attend the University College Dublin for veterinary school. After graduation, Amy worked as a mixed animal veterinarian in Worthington, Minnesota and Eldridge, IA before starting at Kimberly Pines in June 2016. Amy currently lives in Davenport, IA with her boyfriend, Neil. She enjoys being active outdoors and doing triathlons, hiking/camping, horseback riding and traveling.

Pets: Killian (Vizsla Mix), Arya (Ragdoll cat) and Rogue (Morgan horse).

Sydney

Sydney La Rue, DVM

Sydney hails from Dubuque, IA and attended Wartburg College before earning her doctorate from Iowa State in 2016. Dr. La Rue joined Kimberly Pines Veterinary Hospital in August of 2016 and is a welcome addition to our team. Outside of work, she likes to draw, play cards, swim and practice martial arts. Sydney also enjoys sci-fi/fantasy movies and books.

Pets: Goldendoodle named Izzy and a Beagle named Max
